Whirl (Noise Box)

Explore the spiral. Whirl is a noise box featuring 3 noise playgrounds on one surface. The first is a small DC motor, resin mounted to the box itself, with speed control. A fidget spinner, firmly mounted to the box, with a small amount of wiggle room (that works great for getting some taping sound when reverb is added). The last section is 3 conveyor bearings, 1 small and 2 large. The bearings are great for making low rumbling noises as well as sharp bursts of sound.

Inside the box there are 2 piezo contact microphones. One is mounted between the bearings and the spinner, the other is mounted directly to the bottom of the motor. Both piezo's are running into a LM386 preamp with a volume mod (Meaning the volume also controls gain!).

Runs on 9V DC power or with a 9V battery (remove 6 screws on bottom to open).
Input controls power when using 9V battery!
